What is UDL?

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework combining research based on how the brain learns with research surrounding the core components for effective teaching. UDL is not a curriculum or a direct how-to for teaching. Instead, it is a broad guideline on how to deliver material in its most effective and flexible way. The main goal of UDL is to provide flexible options for the learner to become an expert.
